This section contains articles about International Solidarity Movement and Palestine Solidarity Movement activities on college campuses like the University of Michigan, Duke University, and now Georgetown University.
Georgetown is currently the campus to watch. The ISM missed their conference in 2005, most likely because exposure of their last one at Duke University forced them to seek a new venue other than the planned University of Wisconsin at Madison. Georgetown received a $20 million dollar donation from the Saudi's chief financier of Hamas, Sheik Alwaleed Bin Talal that probably helped persuade Georgetown to host the event despite objections from Jewish groups.
Georgetown's President De Gioia has been disingenuous in describing Alwalleed as just a "philanthropist." The Saudi Sheik in fact has blood on his hands for funding "martyrdom" operations to kill Jews and other Israelis. It's a shame DeGioia lacks the integrity shown by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani who refused a $10 million check from Alwaleed after 9/11. The Prince told the Mayor that the Israelis are "slaughtering the Palestinians," standard Saudi pap.
The Georgetown Hate Fest is February 17th to 19th. The administration requires it be open to the public. We encourage those who want to Stop the ISM to in fact go into the conference and be prepared to argue LOUDLY with the trainers and lecturers inside who will tell lies about Israel being an apartheid state like South Africa, or that Arab-Israeli citizens are discriminated against and treated as second-class citizens. Do nothing illegal, but don't tolerate the lies. The ISM relies of college locals to try and lend academic-like credibility to their avowed anti-Semitism.
