Rogues Gallery NADEEM MUADDI

Nadeem Muaddi

FLASH: NADEEM MUADDI ATTEMPTS TO MAKE BLACKMAIL THREATS AGAINST STOP THE ISM TEAM
MEMBERS. BE SURE TO READ HIS EMAIL AT THE END OF THIS SECTION OF THE ROGUES GALLERY.

We had our first run-in with Palestine Solidarity Movement spokesman Nadeem Muaddi (Temple University Students for Justice in Palestine) when an IsraPundit commentator wrote an opinion column on Muaddi's "A Call for Christian Martyrdom" in Ramallah Online and elsewhere (July 2005). Mr. Muaddi took exception to the writer's perception that he was asking Christians to serve as human shields for the Palestinian cause on the basis of the following excerpts:

" But if Christians are indeed required to follow Christ’s example by bearing witness to the virtues of peace, truth, love, and justice – “whatever the cost” – then why have millions of Christians either remained silent or avoided turning their words into deeds on the issue of Palestinian suffering?"

"Bishop Younan faithfully claims that “Martyria is the Via Dolorosa with resurrection”. If this interpretation of “a theology of martyria” is correct, then it’s about time more Christians step forward and offer themselves up as martyrs for a true and just resolution to the Palestinian Issue."

Muaddi began by threatening to sue over the interpretation of his words: pay close attention to the highlighted line.

NOTE: the following message has been forwarded to Israpundit, Georgetown University: President, Office of Public Affairs, Assistant Vice President for Communications, Communications Dept., Dept. of Public Saftey, Office of Risk Management, as well as hundreds of others we will see why it is that your comments hold no legitimacy. I'll see you in court.

Bill Levinson,                    (Ed. Bill is part of the Stop the ISM Team)

I am writing to inform you that I have hired an attorney to begin the necessary steps needed to take legal action against you for libel – otherwise known as written defamation.

Your perverse interpretation of my book review, “A Call for Christian Martyrdom” (Jerusalemites.org & RamallahOnline.com 07/30/05), and subsequent smearing of my name and character to various members of Georgetown University’s administration:

• John J DeGioia, University President
• Dr. Daniel Porterfield, Office of Public Affairs
• Dr. Erik Smulson, Assistant Vice President for Communications
• The Georgetown University Communications Dept.
• The Georgetown University Dept. of Public Safety
• The Georgetown Office of Risk Management

have left me little choice but to take such measures against you. Although the review that I have published explicitly states my personal position against the use of “suicide bombing” as a tactic of resistance, you have taken it upon yourself to publish (source: Israpundit “ISM to recruit ‘martyrs at Georgetown University?” 01/09/06) comments about me that would lead many to believe otherwise.

Your actions are not only morally reprehensible, but illegal. You will be hearing from my attorney soon.

Sincerely,

Nadeem Muaddi
Spokesperson/Organizer
Palestine Solidarity Movement

A response was posted to the effect that, to begin with, the written word does not carry mental telepathy and that a reader had to infer Muaddi's meaning from what he wrote as opposed to whatever he may be thinking. Furthermore (and again, pay attention to the highlighted line above), Mr. Muaddi is in fact on record as condoning, if not supporting, suicide bombings.

According to "Controversial Palestinian group coming to area" by Eric Fingerhut (Washington Jewish Week, 1/11/2006, )

"PSM spokesperson Nadeem Muaddi …said the conference's focus would be divestment.
He said that the group has refused calls to condemn terrorism and suicide bombing because such efforts never include a condemnation of Israeli violence as well."

Furthermore,  The Georgetown Hoya (January 27 2006) reports, "But Muaddi declined to condemn suicide bombings, saying that it would not be right 'to criticize Palestinians for taking part in violence when the Israeli forces are taking part in violence.'"

Having lost his case in IsraPundit, Mr. Muaddi apparently chose to take out his frustrations through a petty and immature act of Internet harassment. As shown by this excerpt from an abuse complaint sent to Comcast.net, numerous malicious newsletter subscriptions were placed from IP address 68.80.28.111.

Comcast.net,

Last Friday, an unknown person subscribed me to E-mail newsletters ...for the purpose of harassing me. ...has found the server logs that show the IP address from which this request originated. The bracketed numbers appear to be the time (Eastern Standard) at which the requests were made, on Friday 13.

It is instructive to compare this IP address to the one in Mr. Muaddi's lawsuit threat, as shown by the full headers. (The same IP address appears in another E-mail of this nature.)

Admittedly, if he is using a dialup account, he is probably assigned a new IP address every time he logs on. If he is on a high-speed connection, however, he has a permanently-assigned address. The two E-mails in question were sent almost 12 hours apart and, unless he was logged onto a dialup account all day, he is on a high-speed connection with the fixed IP address of 68.80.28.111: the same address from which the malicious newsletter subscriptions were placed:

Nadeem Muaddi
642 11th Ave
Prospect Park, PA 19076-1311  Phone 610 532 2477

While this is more of a malicious prank than anything else, it does tend to illustrate the general maturity level (and indeed rationality) of the Palestine Solidarity Movement's leadership. Muaddi's counterparts include, for example:

  • New Jersey Solidarity: former Scientologist Charlotte "children are fair game" Kates.
  • University of Michigan: Fadi Kiblawi, aka Fathead Kablooie (from the noise a bomb makes when it explodes) who once wrote an article in which he expressed a fantasy about "strapping a bomb to one's chest" and presumably going "KIBLAWI!" Mr. Kiblawi also claims, incidentally, that the Palestine Solidarity Movement does not advocate violence.
  • Adam "personal grooming, what's that?" Shapiro and his wife Huwaida Arraf, both of whom openly advocate the use of terroristic violence by the Palestinians.

NADEEM MUAADI sent STOP THE ISM leader Lee Kaplan, the follwoing email threat:

National Palestine Solidarity Movement leader Nadeem Muaddi makes threat and attempts to blackmail Stop the ISM leader Lee Kaplan.

The national spokesman for the ISM divestment program in the US, Nadeem Muaddi, listed in our Rogues Gallery, just sent us the email letter below, apparently in an attempt to blackmail Mr. Kaplan. The implication of the email is that if information that proved Mr. Muaddi prior to the Georgetown PSM Conference was on the Internet posing as a Jewish supporter of the Conference was not altered, Mr. Kaplan's address would be made public since it was in the hand of some ISM "activists." Since the ISM is composed of people who openly support terrorist organizations, one can only assume the intent was to make a terroristic threat against Mr. Kaplan and other members of the Stop the ISM Team. In any event, Kaplan's address and contact information are  publicly available to anyone so he has nothing to hide. Law enforcement officials have also been notified.

Read below the email and implied threat from Palestine Solidarity Movement (ISM) National Spokesman Nadeem Muaddi to Lee Kaplan:

Lee Kaplan,

It's recently come to my attention that your website, stoptheism.com, lists my family's personal contact information in your "rogues gallery" profile of me. While I clearly understand the fact that you've taken up issue with my activism, I respectfully ask that you delete this personal information from your website immediately.

Not too long ago I received an email (subject: anonymous tip) from an activist that disclosed not only your personal contact information - but also that of two Stop The ISM / Dafka friends of yours. I chose to not do anything with this information - as I believe making it public would be crossing the line. If, however, my personal contact information is not removed from your website immediately - I will have no other choice but to do what you've done to me and publish your number / address.

As I'm sure you're well aware, more people would be interested in having your contact information than mine. The fact is, it's in both our interests to not have such information made public. I'm sure neither of us needs the headache of a thousand phone calls.

Today's date is 6-15-06. I'll give your webmaster until 6-22-06 (one week) to delete the information.

Thanks & good day,

Nadeem

Message to Nadeem Muaddi: Are you going to send some terrorists over to attack us as is done in the West Bank and Israel?
